Valley Smoke Pack (Totem: Fog) 

The Valley Smoke Pack has been  serving the Seven Clans Sept for nearly thirty years.  Charlie is the last original member.  Charlie and Nancy were at a loss since a battle w/ a Leech killed two other packmates; they were grateful to have a new task to throw their energy into.

 Charlie Hicks (Truth-of-Morning) (Homid Uktena  Philodox 5) Homid: 45, 5'10", medium-light but muscular build, Cherokee, series of pock scars on his chest, uktena glyph on right shoulderblade, handsome, with the ghost of a smile playing around his mouth; Lupus: Handsome gray wolf. 

Personality: Serious demeanor with a quiet humor. Charlie is a planner who seems very intent on maintaining harmony in the sept.

Notes:  While Charlie has spent most of his life in Cherokee territory, he has visited Uktena septs across the world.  Home will always be his beloved mountains.  He is secretly happy that this caern of the Pure Ones is once again home to Uktena. Unlike other Uktena contenders for leadership, he appreciates the diverse strengths the other tribes bring to the sept.

Fetish: Sacred Pipe

 Nancy Dawes (Holds-Back-the-Shadows) (Homid Uktena Theurge 4) Homid: 37, 5'8", medium build, close-cropped hair, Cherokee cast.  She has a deep scar on her abdomen, with a matching on her back (through-and-through); Lupus:  Dark reddish-brown.

Personality: Loyal to a fault, eager to give of herself to help others.

Notes:  Nancy gets her Garou Name from her defense of a small caern during a siege.  Well-versed in spirit lore, and very interested in helping younger Garou.

Ghostfire (Metis Shadow Lord Theurge 4) Homid: 40, 5'8”, light build, completely hairless, pale skin.  Slash across left cheek, deep scar across right arm, scar across abdomen; Lupus:  Pale and hairless, with similar scars.

Personality: Enigmatic, cool, with a trace of bitterness.  For all that, he seems quite loyal to the Garou and devoted to the caern.

Notes: Ghostfire was exiled from the sept for an indiscretion a few years back, and it probably saved him.  The desperate young Garou who remained after the slaughter called him to help guard the caern.  Eventually he acknowledged that four were not enough to hold the sacred place, and submitted to Uktena rule.

Reggie Lowery (Sneers at Death) (Homid Uktena  Ahroun 4) Homid: Cherokee. Missing three fingers on his left hand and a scar on the right cheek, pulling his mouth into a perpetual sneer; Lupus: Gray wolf, with missing toes and the scar.

Personality: Reggie has a warrior’s fire tempered with attention to duty. He cuts the youngsters a little slack, and believes in being good humored, even when deflating some cocky cub – he’s doing a favor by teaching him humility!

Notes:  Reggie was a hot, angry young brave, always ready to get the extra bit of glory, and earning his share of scars for it.  He also picked fights with the Wyrmcomer tribes, making a few enemies.  He was gunning for Athro status when an elder advised him to go on a spirit quest.  The spirits showed him more than he bargained for; he never revealed what he experienced, but Reggie was a changed man.  He withdrew his challenge, saying he wasn’t ready for the advancement. After that, he often sought wisdom from the theurges and philodoxes and was in all ways more respectful.  Now an Elder, Reggie knows more about warfare than anyone in his sept, but he has gained the maturity of character he lacked in his bloody youth.  Charlie invited Reggie to join the sept and pack shortly after they settled in, and he was honored to accept.  Now he is the Red Chief or Caern Warder.

Red Creek Pack (Totem: Uktena)

The Red Creek Pack formed in 1995.  The name comes from the assertion that “our blood will run like a river before we fail”.

Tsali Watie (Firewalker)(Homid Uktena Ahroun 3) : Homid: 24, 5’11”, shoulder-length black hair, medium, hard muscled frame.  A few faint slashing scars lace his skin.  In public, wears jeans, boots and denim shirt, but often wears buckskins at the caern.  Projects an air of menace; Lupus:  Reddish-black fur.

Personality: Tsali is  respectful of elders, and scornful of Wyrmcomers until they earn is respect.  Others he will bully just because he can.  He's often brash.

Notes: He believes cunning and claws are the way of the Garou, though the elders are encouraging him to explore his spiritual side.  Ardent student of the bow, both making and using.

Mary Oolutsa (Eyes-Across-the-Water) (Metis Uktena Theurge 2) : Homid: 21, 5’10”, 5'7", light build, hair to shoulders, tends to dress fairly feminine (dresses rather than jeans, when practical), likes gold jewelry.  A dark blue tattoo of an Uktena runs from her left knee, around her thigh, her side, around her back and over her right shoulder; the head perches a little above her heart; Lupus: Compact build, nearly black with a few reddish hairs.  Crinos: Nearly black.

Personality: Mary likes looking good, both in appearance and in action.  She's drawn to "where none have gone before;" she knows the area around the caern (and in the local Penumbra) better than anyone in the sept.

Notes: No sense of smell.  When she was born her shamed parents threw her in the lake. She didn't sink, and they took that as a sign.  She has a definite water affinity.

Fetish: Gnosis Bag

Reid Trotter (Wind-in-the-Spruce)(Lupus Uktena Galliard 2) Homid: 18, 5’5”, wiry build, black hair to mid-back ; Lupus:  Small wolf, dark gray.

Personality: Relishes the hunt like no one else.  He is a little suspicious of "new ways" created by monkeys; the time-tested way of doing things is always best.

Notes: Wind-in-the-Spruce spend his first year deep in the Smokies in an enclave hidden from non-Uktena.  It didn’t take too long to get used to his new life, and now he embraces it.  Homid ways are still a little mysterious, but he has a knack for picking up the lore of his adopted people as well as his new family.

 Moor Hunter Pack (Totem: Merlin)

Nightsong (Marla Connor) (Lupus F Fianna Galliard 4) Homid:  30, Stunningly beautiful, 5’8”, blonde hair to mid back (usually in two braids), blue eyes, nightingale voice; Lupus:  Sleek, jet-black wolf with greenish-blue eyes.

Personality: Even-tempered source of quiet inspiration.

Notes: Nightsong has done her best as Alpha, though Gaia knows she’s made mistakes.  She’s supported them despite their own failings, and continues to work to erase any blemish of dishonor.  She believes Gina’s frenzy and subsequent death by a Garou’s hand was somehow fated, and that hopefully her death will put things right between the spirits and the pack. Merit: Voice of the Songbird, Second Sight.

Stefan Daly (Banehew) (Homid M Get of Fenris Theurge 3) Homid:  26, 6'4", broad and muscular, with small pock marks and claw-scars on arms and chest.  Deep blue eyes, short blonde hair; Lupus:  Large gray wolf  with broad shoulders and huge, savage jaws.

Personality: Quiet, contemplative, brooding.

Notes: Stefan seems to work and fight harder than others; it has been whispered he has something to atone for.

Finella Douglas (Carried the Day) (Homid F Fianna Ahroun 3) Homid: 24, 5'6", light frame but muscular, red hair cropped close, green eyes  ; Lupus: wiry wolf with a shiny reddish coat.

Personality: A little brash, but usually keeps an eye on the pack to see how they react.

Notes: The newest member of the pack, Finella is all one may expect from a Fianna Ahroun – her passion comes through in song or in battle, and she can drink most Garou under the table.

Fetish: Spear

 War Moon Pack (Totem: Weasel)

The War Moon pack assembled a year ago to fight against some mockeries in Oklahoma , and decided to stay together.  They are a militant pack, ready to go on the warpath at any time.  

Mark Thomas (Rises Red) (Homid M Uktena Ahroun 3) Homid:  24, 5’10, Comanche, hair to shoulders, muscular body with numerous scars,  facial features conspire to make him look perpetually stern; Lupus:  Dk gray with a few white scars.

Personality: Respectful of elders, but proud.

Notes: Born to an Ahroun mother and raised by Comanche relatives, Mark was a stiff-necked child.  As a packmember, he was always first into the fray.  Now that he is alpha, he is learning (grudgingly) to put the pack’s welfare above personal glory.  

Runs to Ground (Lupus F Uktena Ahroun 3) Homid: 25, 5’9, left ear ragged, jagged scar on left shoulder;  Lupus: Gray-tan, ragged left ear, fur missing from left shoulder.

Personality: Distrusts strangers – especially homids – and is quick to assert her standing in the hierarchy.

Notes: **

Randy Lupe (Sleeps Awake) (Homid M Uktena Ragabash 2) Homid:  20, 5’5”, Chiricauhua Apache, wide shoulders makes him look squat; hair past ears but usually corralled by bandanna; Lupus:  Rangy brown wolf.

Personality: Humor is both dry and black.  If he doesn’t get to tussle now and then, he starts planning pranks.

Notes:  

Sings Through the Pain (Metis F Uktena Galliard 2) Homid:18, skinny, generic Indian, long hair; Lupus: Bony gray wolf with a long scaly snake tail.

Personality: Sets great store in Garou lore and precedent when making decisions.  She can also be counted on to see the worst side of any situation.

Metis Flaw: Snake Tail

Don Junaluska (Storm Voice) (Homid M Uktena Galliard 2) Homid:  20, 5’11”, Cherokee, medium build, has what appear to be three bullet scars in chest and back; Lupus:  Reddish-gray, with three hairless spots on brisket.

Personality: Love to sing, loves to tell stories – loves to hear his own voice. 

Notes: 

Mist Eye (Metis M Uktena Theurge 2) Homid:  looks 20, 5’8, Indian features with dk brown hair and hazel right eye; left eye is cloudy; Lupus:  Gray pelt, cloudy left eye.

Personality: Taciturn even for an Uktena. Holds a grudge against Wyrmcomer tribes. 

Notes: It was an accident; his mother spent the night with a drifter who turned out to be a New Moon from a Wyrmcomer tribe (he never learned which one).

Sarah Bowback (Metis Uktena  Ragabash 2) Homid: 24, 5’5”; Indian cast, hunchback; Lupus: Gray coat, humped over shoulders ; Crinos: Gray fur, unable to stand straight.

Mary Hicks

36, 5'5”, Cherokee.  Relatively pretty.  Tends to dress conservatively.

  Jack Sharp

45, 5'10", stocky, Cherokee, long black hair, thin.  Wears ratty camouflage or carharts.

Bill Riley  

Late 30's, businesslike and distinguished-looking.  Wears Barbour jackets and other high-end outdoors apparel. Though he speaks with a mountain accent, it's clear he is well educated whenever he opens his mouth. His jokes are drier than the  Gobi .  Husband to Celeste.  He is among the most prosperous farmers in the county (with spirit aid, are you surprised?).

 Larissa  Jackson (Laughing Shadow) (Homid F Uktena Ragabash 3) Homid: 20, 5’8”, slender build, dk. chocolate skin, braids to shoulders.; Lupus:  Charcoal-gray coat, rangy. Of the War Moon Pack. 

Personality: Sassy and quick to note flaws in the plans of others.  Will agree to most any plan that includes travel through the spirit world. Killed by nerve gas in a raid against BSDs.

  Shade Dweller: Shadow Lord Kin. Gray-brown coat, with frost creeping up her muzzle.

The only lupus Kin of the sept, she was the official mate of Silvereye (although he had numerous unofficial liasons with human and wolf alike).  Although aging, she was still proud and magnificent.   Died of age.

  Sister Shadow Lord Kin.  Rangy grayish coat.

Kinfolk but barren.  Close to Ghostfire but unable to dominate Shade Dweller.
