Chris Osborne
Age: 30
Appearance:
The son of a King's College professor, Chris joined the Metropolitan Police; after two years he transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department as a Detective Constable. He had a knack for investigation work, and after three years he made Detective Sergeant and expected to be an Inspector by his 33rd birthday.
Then he discovered that his partner, Barry Harkin, was tampering with evidence. After a little off-duty investigation he confronted Barry, who confessed to being on the take. Barry wouldn’t say who was paying him, but that he wasn’t given options and had a family to think about. Before Chris could request an investigation, he was told (by an anonymous source) that he could either resign from the force or be discredited, framed, and possibly imprisoned. The young DS decided the threat was real enough, and chose the better part of valour.
In the early months since he opened his own detective agency, the calls, though few, were pretty standard – background checks, divorce, and so on. Then he found out the woman he was tailing was dating someone not entirely human. From there, weirdness began showing up all around. Now, many of his meager cases have some whiff of the supernatural about them.
He hasn’t lost is desire to find and pay back the corrupt cops that cut short his promising career. Though he keeps it well hidden, he feels a certain resentment towards Tony Gallagher, who, while not on the take, turned a blind eye to corruption and so moved up the ranks.
