WELCOME TO
ECLECTIC COMPANY
If you look over this site, you'll see the name fits. Any web site where you can find Aldo Leopold, Alfred the Great, Peter Gabriel, A.E. Houseman and Robert E. Lee can surely be called eclectic. Browse around, and you'll probably find something that interests you. You may even pick up a new interest.
This site has two purposes. One is to serve as an extended bookmark site for links across the web. Eclectic Company is also known as "Site of a Thousand Links" and it's more than earned the name. The second purpose of this page is as an exercise in learning Front Page. As such, this site undergoes periodic revision. Some of the pages are downright skeletal, but I'll fill them out along and along. I've been adding links and pages every month or so. If you have any comments or constructive criticism (even just pointing out spelling errors or dead links), please don't hesitate to email me.
I've done a fair bit of rearranging and adding in the past couple of months or so, so if you have time it may be worth a new browse. Among the most recent edits have been additions to Forestry, Worldbuilding, Medieval, Horn Carving, American Indians, Languages, The Great War, SCA, Early Period Poetry, Bread and Misc. Links pages.
The problem with the information superhighway is the way lanes turn to detours or dead ends almost constantly. Some of the links have gotten stale since they were first posted here, so if you know the new addresses or ultimate fates of these dead links, please let me know.
To keep loading as fast as possible (and believe me, my own line takes forever), this site is purposefully light on the graphics. Enjoy.
Oh, and if you're a web page designer and are railing about this being designed with FrontPage, you really need to pick up an outdoor hobby.
