Train Travel, Atlanta to Washington, D.C. via AMTRAK:

The Southern Crescent leaves Atlanta central station at 8:06 PM, and
arrives at Washington DC/Union Station at 9:50AM the next morning (transit
time: 13h, 44m). One-way single adult fare is $128.00, and includes one
reserved coach seat, w/checked luggage, dining car & lounge access. How
much is romantic rail travel worth?

MetroRail Travel:

Single fares are $1.25; one-day passes are $6.50; 7-day passes are $22.00
(short trip).

The Hotel Thing:

How we go hotel-wise will depend on whether we drive vs. train, but the
leanest I've found thusfar is $75-80 a night in the DC area...

Do we have any friends in the metro area up for some crash space providing?

Questions? Comments? Others we can hornswoggle into the caravan?
Let's commence palaver......
